Our Story

At the ICCBC we pride ourselves on being a friendly, socially competitive Bridge Club.

While it may appear that the ICCBC is a young club (being first affiliated with the ABF and QBA in 2021), in reality we were established in Ipswich as far back as 1994.

All players are welcome to our Club. For players who are newer to the game we have created an offshoot of the Club where Bridge is taught to anyone wanting to learn. This involves a course of 6 weekly lessons followed by supervised play after completion of the program.

Frequently Asked Questions

I am a member of another club, can I gain Masterpoints by playing in your competition?

Yes, if you have an ABF registration number our Masterpoints Manager will forward any points you gain to the ABF as part of our quarterly club upload.

Can I play at your meetings if I don’t have an ABF Registration number?

Yes, as long as you aim to eventually join the ABF. We are happy to include unregistered visitors in our weekly competitions in order for them to “try before they buy”.

Do your members compete in congresses organised by other clubs and organisations?

Yes. A number of our members have competed at State and National level as well as in many local congresses

I am new to bridge, can I come along and learn to play from watching your weekly competitions?

Contract Bridge is a multifaceted game that we feel is best learned through a program of instruction followed by supervised competition. If you would prefer to learn more about the game before deciding on joining us, feel free to complete the “Send Us A Message” form in the section above.
